washing your face with cleanser cleans it and strips it, which is good. but you have to put back what you take away from your skin. moisturizer does this.

you skin is probably getting worse BECAUSE it is dry.

When skin is over dry, it tries to fix the imbalance by producing more sebum. this excess sebum doesnt end up fixing the problem, it ends up clogging the pores.

using moisturizer fixes the imbalance so your face stops producing excess sebum.
